DIA! Radio
A community radio with the tools of a real station: broadcast, scheduling, listening. Built from nothing, operated day to day.
DIA! Radio is an independent web radio based in the Basque Country. More than 60 resident shows, live sessions in the studio, podcasts. The challenge: give a volunteer team the means of a professional station, without a professional station's budget.
The platform covers three surfaces. iOS and Android apps (Vue 3 + Capacitor): live stream, podcasts on demand, the day's schedule, background playback and lock-screen controls. A website (Nuxt) built for discovery and long listening. A bespoke scheduling backend (Payload CMS + LibreTime) that runs the station 24/7: grids, episodes, metadata, archives.
For the listener: an account, favourites on episodes and on shows alike, gathered in My DIA, search across the whole catalogue, browsing by genre and by mood, direct links that reopen the app on the right episode, and the full schedule available at any time.
A replay you like does not stop there. Playback carries on with episodes of the same grain, picked on the genre, the energy and the mood of the one that started the session. What comes next stays on screen, and you can jump straight to any of it. Enough to run for hours without touching anything.
Automation does the rest. Agents assist the scheduling, generate the on-air placeholders, chase residents before they go out, ask for missing metadata and fill the archives after each live session. The coordination work of an entire team runs by itself, every week.
The whole thing is instrumented (PostHog) and self-hosted end to end. A professional-grade platform, designed, built and operated by one person.
